For Guidance

O God, by whom the meek are guided in judgment, and light rises up in darkness for the godly: Grant us, in all our doubts and uncertainties, the grace to ask what you would have us do, that the Spirit of wisdom may save us from all false choices; that in your light we may see light, and in your straight path we may not stumble; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Of an Ecumenist

Almighty God, we give you thanks for the ministry of N., who labored that the Church of Jesus Christ might be one: Grant that we, instructed by his teaching and example, and knit together in unity by your Spirit, may ever stand firm upon the one foundation, which is Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  Amen.

Through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord; in him you bring us to the knowledge of your truth, and unite us by the bond of one Faith and one Baptism, that we might love one another and manifest your love to the world.

A collect of thanksgiving for those who labored toward Christian unity, newly composed for the ACNA BCP 2019. Its petition borrows the language of the 1979 Episcopal collect for Saints Peter and Paul almost word for word, adapted into a general commemorative form; the category "Of an Ecumenist" itself had no precedent in any earlier Anglican prayer book.
