For Guidance

O God, by whom the meek are guided in judgment, and light rises up in darkness for the godly: Grant us, in all our doubts and uncertainties, the grace to ask what you would have us do, that the Spirit of wisdom may save us from all false choices; that in your light we may see light, and in your straight path we may not stumble; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Collect for Saturdays

Compline

We give you thanks, O God, for revealing your Son Jesus Christ to us by the light of his resurrection: Grant that as we sing your glory at the close of this day, our joy may abound in the morning as we celebrate the Paschal mystery; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A prayer of Saturday Compline that gives thanks for Christ revealed "by the light of his resurrection" and asks that the joy of evening prayer carry forward into Sunday's celebration of the Paschal mystery. It first appeared in the Episcopal Church's 1979 Book of Common Prayer, the first BCP to include Compline as a formal office.
