For Seeking God

Teach me to seek you, and as I seek you, show yourself to me; for I cannot seek you unless you show me how, and I will never find you unless you show yourself to me. Let me seek you by desiring you, and desire you by seeking you; let me find you by loving you, and love you in finding you. Amen.

The Feast of Joseph, Husband of the Virgin Mary & Guardian of Jesus

Intercessions

Loading…

The husband of Mary and the legal father of Jesus, a working man of Nazareth who is never once quoted in Scripture. What the Gospels give him instead is a pattern: he is told something in a dream, he gets up, and he does it. He named the child, which was the father's act and made the fatherhood legal, and then he disappears from the record so completely that the Church has had to infer his death from silence.
