Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter, when the Church remembers the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and hears the Passion read at length. Branches are blessed and carried, and the acclamation of the crowd gives the day its oldest names. It opens Holy Week, and its joy is already shadowed by the Cross.
