The Feast of Conversion of Paul the Apostle
On the twenty-fifth of January the Church remembers the day the man who had set out to destroy her was stopped on the road and made her apostle. The date is liturgical, not historical: Scripture gives the encounter near Damascus no calendar day. Since 1908 the same date has closed the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
